Cycle Torque editors Nigel Paterson and Chris Pickett are currently in Vietnam, touring with Vietnam Motorbike Tours.
"We've done two days of riding so far, and Vietnam is an eye-opening place. There's a scooter culture in place, partly because the government has made cars really, really expensive, which means most people get around by bike. Public transport is hard to spot.
"Our first day was around Nha Trang, which I'm told is a bit like Surfers Paradise 30 years ago – it's really popular with the tourists. get away from the tourist strip though and you start to get a taste of the real Vietnam.
"On day two we rode 140km or so to Da Lat – an all-day ride through the mountains. Awesome day, despite some unseasonal rain. Check out the photos.
"The food in Vietnam is fantastic, although it helps to leave your predjudices at home. It's cheap, plentiful and really, really cheap. Even the flash tourist restaurants in Nha Trang are inexpensive."
